Electrolysis Electrolysis is an FDA-approved method of permanently removing hair. During the procedure, individual hair from the arms and hands are removed by inserting a very fine needle into the hair follicle at the surface of the skin and passing an electric current through it, which destroys the hair. It is a process that takes time as each individual hair is attended to and should be undertaken by a person with pain tolerance levels.

About the treatment

Electrolysis is an FDA-approved permanent hair-removal treatment for arms. Electrolysis uses electricity to destroy the growth centre of the hair (hair follicles) with heat energy to prevent hair regrowth. It works well on any type of skin and hair colour. With the help of a very fine needle-shaped electrode, an electric current is passed into each hair follicle with the task to destroy the hair's root. Electrolysis itself is of three types, which are galvanic, thermolysis and blend. Multiple sessions are required to remove hair completely because of the different stages of hair growth.
