Split earlobes or widened ear piercing holes are often caused if earrings are pulled through the piercing hole. Additionally, wearing heavy earrings can broaden the piercing hole and eventually pull through over time. People with thin earlobes often complain to this occurring. Earlobe surgery or earlobe repair is an effective plastic surgery procedure performed to correct or restore the appearance of earlobes that have been broadened, torn or stretched due to trauma, ear tearing, or piercing, including the tribal ear piercing, also known as a flesh tunnel. This surgery can also be called split earlobe repair or earlobe reconstructive surgery which is relatively simple and a quick snip procedure conducted to repair the affected area.
