Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) is a popular laser that effectively targets the dark pigment area around the hair follicle to damage it sufficiently to cause the hair to fall out and inhibit its ability to re-grow. It works well on brown hair and brown to dark shades of skin.

About the treatment

Intense pulsed light (IPL) targets the dark pigment area around the hair follicle in order to damage it sufficiently to cause the hair to fall out and inhibit its ability to re-grow. The dark pigment which is found in both hair and skin and which determines its colour is known as melanin. Melanin, which absorbs light, is particularly dense at the base of the hair root and this is a good target for the powerful pulses of light emitted by the IPL device. As the light is absorbed by the melanin it produces heat energy causes the damage. The results are visible in a week or two. It is ideal for large body areas like the back where body hair can be removed with long-lasting results.

From having 8 Laser treatments to

From having 8 Laser treatments to remove my underarm hair. I found that few hairs had gone and I was very disappointed because my underarm hair was very dark and grows back very quickly.So I decided to go for IPL. I have heard that Laser and IPL are different and yet both obtain good results with permanent hair removal after one treatment of IPL my underarm hair was a lot finer and 80% of my hair had gone. I only wish I had had IPL first as the results are by far superior to laser treatment

I have suffered with excessive hair

I have suffered with excessive hair growth and in-growing hairs for over twenty years. The condition ruined my life and aside from topical antibiotic lotion my Doctor could do nothing to help me. I stopped exercising and would go to any lengths to avoid being seen undressed due to the unsightliness of the hair growth, scars and sores. Thanks to the IPL treatment, my life has totally changed. The hair has been permanently removed, I no longer suffer from ingrowing hairs, my skin has had a chance to repair and the scars have disappeared

Having spent endless years trying to
