Dental Crowns can be described as caps for teeth that are designed like teeth. It is cemented onto the tooth and totally covers the visible portion of the tooth. It can be used to cover gaps of missing teeth as well as improve the appearance of teeth.

About the treatment

A dental crown is a structured tooth-shaped ‘cap’ that is placed over a tooth to cover the damaged tooth and to restore its shape and size, increase it’s strength and improve its appearance. The crowns when placed right, can fully cover the entire visible portion of tooth that lies above the gum line. During the dental crown treatment, the excess gum and bone tissue are restructured to expose more portions of the natural tooth. This procedure can be done to one tooth or to several teeth to improve and repair surgically. The experts may recommend dental crown treatment to enhance or complete the cosmetic dental procedure.

I thought crowns meant taking out my real teeth but that was not true. The crowns went over my present teeth. The doctor made my smile look good.

I had a gap in my

I had a gap in my teeth and my teeth was yellow from a root canal treatment. when the dentist suggested dental crowns, I agreed. I thought he would give me nice looking teeth. Wrong. He gave me weird looking teeth – to match my present ones. Another thing – he kept saying that I had dark teeth because of tea, coffee, haldi, chocolate…hello…this is india. We use all that in the kitchen.
