A Panniculectomy is a surgical procedure to remove the pannus or the excess skin and tissue from the lower abdomen, to create a smoother abdominal contour. A Panniculectomy is accomplished to relieve symptoms that occur from sagging skin that interferes with everyday activities.

About the treatment

A panniculectomy is a surgical procedure to remove the pannus — excess skin and tissue from the lower abdomen to create a smoother abdominal contour. This excess skin is sometimes referred to as an “apron.” Unlike a tummy tuck, the panniculectomy does not tighten the abdominal muscles for a more cosmetic appearance. A panniculectomy is performed to relieve symptoms that occur from an overhanging apron of skin that interferes with everyday activities. Excess pannus tissue can make it difficult to maintain good hygiene in the genital area. Excessive Pannus tissue can lead to difficulty in walking as well as carrying out other activities involving physical labour like lifting or carrying things.

I am a 39 yr old

I am a 39 yr old mother of 2... i have been dealing with extra skin on my stomach since I had my daughter close to 19 years ago. My stomach would go down but the skin looked like a shriveled up prune!!!! I have been wanting surgery for about 5 or 6 years now and I have been nervous I told my husband that for our anniversary and my 40th birthday I want to wear a 2 piece bikini and tanks without my stomach poking out!!! I am so happy and glad I got it done.

Holy cow, it does hurt, but

Holy cow, it does hurt, but I still say it’s worth it! Sleeping in a recliner is a must. Loose comfy clothes, and husband/friends are the best

I have been dieting on and

I have been dieting on and off my whole life! At about he 17, I started gaining weight and could not get it off. Turns out I had been diagnosed, much later, with polycystic ovary syndrome, making it very difficult to lose weight. About a year later, I had gastric band surgery. I lost about 50 lbs and stayed that way for many years. Now down 80lbs, I had excess skin and flab to deal with. Got Panniculectomy treatment, got excess fat from my bidy removed. I am very happy now.
