About the treatment

LASIK or ‘Laser Assisted In Situ Keratomileusis’ is a popular eye surgery that corrects vision and helps get rid of glasses or contact lenses. LASIK eye surgery essentially corrects vision by reshaping the cornea of the eye through the use of specialized lasers. This laser eye surgery improves the vision in cases of myopia, presbyopia, hyperopia, or astigmatism. LASIK has also been used to improve vision so that a person can play sports better like badminton, tennis, golf and the like. The results are long-lasting and thus post the surgery, there is no need to wear glasses or contact lenses. A person ‘s sight remains the same for years changing only with natural ageing.

I am 35 and I

I am 35 and I have always had spectacles, right from when i was 12. Since I have also always enjoyed sports, wearing glasses always felt like an obstruction. Especially during swimming. I almost never enjoyed sunshades. This problem was always enhanced because I could never be comfortable in contact lenses. Tried them several times, don’t know if it’s the shape or because my eyes are generally dry and allergic. I finally decided to go for lasik consultation where the doctor gave me an appointment for the surgery. Besides the prepping and several drops, the surgery itself took only a few minutes. Didn’t feel much till I went home(comfortably). There is tedious post care that one must be ready for. There were drops every hour for several days and I had to be very careful while sleeping lest I hurt or rub my eyes. I remember taking painkiller and an anti anxiety pill for the first night. Now, I can’t be happier that I took the decision for Lasik. Totally worth every effort and every penny. My doctor was excellent. She calmed me at every step. I’d recommend this procedure to everyone.

lasik done for me as lenses didn’t suit me and girls with specs are called nerds. But nobody told me that in the 40s, the number changes again. So back to specs again.
