In chin liposuction, also called submental liposuction or “chin lipo,” a plastic surgeon suctions out excess fat from the chin, neck, and jowls to create a more contoured, defined look. The procedure may be combined with a chin implant for a more defined jawline.

About the treatment

The liposuction is a surgical way to remove stubborn pockets of fat from the body that have not responded to adequate changes with exercise and diet. In this procedure, small incisions are made in the particular area/areas where the fat is to be removed. A thin metal tube or cannula is inserted through the incisions to vacuum out gently the underlying fat. Liposuction can be performed on various parts of the body, including the abdomen and waist, thighs and hips and cheeks, chin and neck. It is one of those effective procedures that has shown results. Overall, liposuction is intended to improve and contour the body in targeted area and not just to reduce weight, sagging skin or cellulite.
